Khallikote Unitary University (1^st, Aug 2021), Erstwhile Khallikote (Autonomous) College is a premier institution of the state of Odisha and the largest institution of South Odisha. It was established in the year 1856 as Zilla school and it renamed as respectively in the year 1878 (union College), 1887 (Native College), 1893(Khallikote college). The Department of Education was started in the Khallikote Autonomous College in the year 1981 with Under Graduate course only then after Post Graduate and M.Phil courses were started in the year 2009 and 2015 respectively. Post Graduate Education Department, which catered to the need of higher education in Education not only in south Odisha but also in the other region. The Department has the legitimate claim and pride of being the premier department in Odisha for course curriculum development, teaching and researches in Education discipline. The rapid Growth of the Department of Education is reflected in its Expansion as well as novelty in its academic programmers.
