Long back in the year 1957, the department of Hindi had come out from the embryo and through the corridor of time became the epicenter of PG, M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses since 2002. in its relentless journey the Erstwhile Khallikote Autonomous College, Berhampur has been upgraded to Khallikote Unitary University on 01.08.2021 and the department along with the entire college has become an integral part of the University. Now it is alone center of learning of UG core-courses, PG, M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Hindi around the length and breadth of the state of Odisha.

Besides impacting the primary duties of taking of classes of various degrees the department organises seminars, symposiums, debate and essay competitions in Hindi among students.
The department also celebrates National and International Hindi Di-was in every year. in Seminars and symposiums noted above eminent scholars in the field of Hindi literature’s have been invited to grace the occasion. the students and teachers also participated in presentations of scholars under PhD degree.
