In the year 1983-84, the department of higher education introduced Post graduate studies in the department of Zoology. Later M. Phil course was also introduced in the year 2009-10. The UG/PG degree is currently affiliated to Khallikote unitary University. The department offers core course in B.Sc. Zoology and General Elective comprising 6 semesters/3 years, M.Sc. comprising 4 semesters/2 years and M.Phil. 2 semesters/1 year. Selection of students to choose a career in UG is executed through e-admission process conducted by student academic management system (SAMS) while PG on the basis of merit in the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) since 2021.
